SK78-Siri S12®

advanced divider

SK78-Siri S12® is a unique 12 strand High Modulus/High Performance rope made of SK78 fibers. The Linear Structural Preformation (LSP) Shield technology enhances the SK78 fiber’s superb characteristics, resulting in a really strong and durable rope, ideal for the most demanding applications in the shipping industry.

SK78-Siri S12® ropes are 8 times stronger than steel ropes and 3 times stronger than polyester (on a weight by weight comparison).

Applications

The special Linear Structural Preformation (LSP) process upgrade the SK78 fibers to a level of superior performance. The application of Linear Structural Preformation (LSP) is performed on the fiber level and protects the SK78 fibers from abrasion and UV radiation. In the end, the whole process guarantees a top-quality rope with extra high strength efficiency and excellent abrasion resistance.

When compared to wire ropes, SK78-Siri S12® ropes are stronger (for the same weight), lighter (making them easy and fast to handle), safer to use, and cost-saving (minimum maintenance needs, no greases, faster operating times).

SK78-Siri S12® ropes are an excellent wire-rope alternative and some of the reasons are the following:

SK78-Siri S12® ropes are produced according to ISO 10325-2009 and they comply with OCIMF’s latest regulations & recommendations for the safe mooring of the tanker-LNG-LPG vessels.
