Aramid Ropes
Tech-Siri® S-12 DB Rope
Tech-Siri® S-12 DB Ropes are special Aramid ropes made of Technora® fibers offering zero creep and heat resistant properties. Tech-Siri® S-12 DB ropes are the finest aramid ropes in the market and are developed specifically for demanding applications.
APPLICATIONS: MOORING/TOW LINES/STS OPERATIONS (to be used with synthetic tails), ANCHORING
Tech-Siri® S-12 DB ropes consist of a 12 strand High Modulus Technora® core over-braided with a highly abrasion resistant polyester jacket. They combine the excellent properties of TEIJIN’s Technora® fibers and an insuperable manufacturing process.
The use of the special coating application on the Technora® fibers and the superior in-house heat-stretching process provides a high quality robust rope construction with higher strength efficiency and excellent abrasion resistance. The jacket protects the High Modulus load bearing core against abrasion and UV/environmental degradation and thus prolongs its service life.
Additionally, Tech-Siri® S-12 DB ropes are also available with the special application of Prisma® Shield Technology (under the brand of TechPrisma-Siri® S-12 DB)
Tech-Siri® S-12 DB ropes are an excellent wire-rope and HMPE alternative and offer several benefits:
- Most cost-effective ropes to purchase due to lower labor requirements in operations and decreased mooring & towing operating times (compared to wire ropes)
- High strength-to-size ratio, allowing for lighter weight ropes that are easier to handle (compared to wire ropes).
- Zero creep
- Highly heat resistant
- 2-3 times longer service life (compared to wire ropes)
Tech-Siri® S-12 DB ropes are produced according to the latest international standards and they comply with OCIMF's latest regulations & recommendations for the safe mooring of the tanker-LNG-LPG vessels.
